Dr. Teresa A. Hubka, DO, FACOOG Dist, FACOG, CS

A native of San Diego, California, Dr. Hubka received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis, and her Masters Degree in biology and nutrition science from the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT.  Dr. Hubka completed a dietetic internship at Alvarado Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego and worked as a registered dietitian in both hospital and private practice settings.

Dr. Hubka received her osteopathic medical degree (DO) from Des Moines University - Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.  She completed an osteopathic internship at Atlantic City Medical Center, in Atlantic City, New Jersey and a residency in obstetrics and gynecologic surgery at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago Illinois, where she was the chief administrative resident.

Dr. Hubka opened her private Obstetrics and Gynecology practice in Lincoln Park as a solo practitioner and then founded Comprehensive Wellness care, a practice of affiliates in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Integrated Behavioral Health and Fitness specialists which provides complete health services to women of all ages. Dr. Hubka practices at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, as well as Swedish Convenant Hospital.

Dr. Hubka is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) and the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Distinguished Fellow of ACOOG.  She is a clinical professor of Ob/Gyn at Midwestern University in Chicago where she is the Department Chair and Residency Program Director.  Dr. Hubka is a Costin Scholar in Medical Education and has been inducted into the American Osteopathic Association’s Mentor Hall of Fame.

Nationally, Dr. Hubka is the President of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and and serves on many national women's health councils.  She is the Immediate Past President of the American Osteopathic Foundation – the first female in 60 years, and has held many national positions within the American Osteopathic Association.  Dr. Hubka is Past President of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society and also of the Des Moines University, Alumni Association.  Dr. Hubka was recently named in the Chicago’s Magazine as “Top Doctor” in women’s healthcare 2011.  Dr. Hubka has won many awards for her leadership and service in education and women’s health issues.
